The 2026/2027 Cashew Season Officially Opens on 12 October 2026 MAMCU LTD is pleased to welcome farmers, Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Societies (AMCOS), buyers, and all stakeholders to the 2026/2027 Cashew Season, which officially begins on 12 October 2026. The new season presents an important opportunity to strengthen cashew production, improve crop quality, expand market access, and enhance the benefits received by farmers through the cooperative marketing system.
Masasi-Mtwara Cooperative Union (MAMCU) was registered in 1995 after the former Mtwara Cooperative Union was split to bring services closer to members. Today MAMCU serves AMCOS across Mtwara, Masasi, Nanyumbu and neighbouring councils, linking farmers to reliable markets for cashew, sesame, groundnuts, green gram, pigeon peas and cowpeas through fair trade and transparent payments.
Four steps connecting farmers to markets, quality management and fair payment.
MAMCU works closely with member farmers from the farm to the market, supporting crop production, quality management, storage and marketing.
Our cooperative model promotes transparency, fair payments and reliable market access, while our projects advance infrastructure, value addition and sustainable growth.
Member AMCOS collect produce from farmers and deliver it to MAMCU warehouses for safe storage and initial quality checks.
AMCOS submit verified farmer names, delivered quantities and produce details so every approved batch is linked to its owners.
MAMCU checks the approved batches and prepares each farmer’s payment using the verified delivery records.
Verified payments are sent through banking channels so farmers receive their funds securely and promptly.
Grading, sorting, handling and packaging help produce meet buyer standards.
MAMCU links quality produce to reliable domestic and export buyers through transparent trade.
Infrastructure, value addition, expertise, innovation and community collaboration strengthen the value chain.
